At a videoconference chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, discussing key tasks for the development of the service sector, special attention was given to the growth of the nighttime economy.
During the meeting, a project was approved to transform a 7.3-kilometer road passing through 17 streets in the Olmazor district into a gastronomic street. This project will establish 250 trade and service facilities, creating at least 1,500 jobs.
It was also noted that an additional 26 streets in the capital could be turned into vibrant, 24/7 working avenues, with the number of round-the-clock retail outlets increasing by 1,000.
Taking into account tourist feedback, it was emphasized that tourism and service facilities should also operate in the evening.
The meeting highlighted that a new approach to service sector development would be implemented in districts starting this year.
A total of 1,156 "driver" projects have been selected and approved in the regions. A budget of 1 trillion Uzbek soums will be allocated for their infrastructure.
As a result, in collaboration with entrepreneurs, the following initiatives are planned for this year:
The launch of 72 coastal recreational areas,
Modernization of 62 parks,
Creation of 154 round-the-clock tourism and gastronomic streets,
Construction of 364 roadside and other service facilities.
In this regard, local authorities have been tasked with improving the infrastructure of 50 interdistrict roads.
