Bachelor's degree programme on sustainable transport systems to be created in Uzbek universities

On 12-13 March, the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent hosted the kick-off meeting of the project to create a Bachelor's degree in sustainable transport systems within the framework of the European Union's Erasmus Plus programme.

Within the framework of the project it is planned to create a Bachelor's degree on sustainable transport systems in the participating higher education institutions of Uzbekistan. It is planned to introduce the best practices of the European Union into higher education institutions of Uzbekistan by developing comprehensive educational programmes using innovative and new technologies.

It is planned to organise trainings for at least ten different transport-related companies. 12 students of the 2nd and 3rd years of the bachelor's programme created within the project will take part in an exchange programme in European universities. The total cost of the project is 800 thousand euros and its realisation is planned for the period from 2024 to 2027.

On the part of Uzbekistan, the project participants are: Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations; Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent; Tashkent State Transport University; Tashkent Kimyo International University; Jizzakh branch of the National University of Uzbekistan; Transport Research Centre LLC.

Project participants from Kosovo: Project Coordinator University Of Mitrovica, Kosovo Academy of Applied Sciences, W3 Lab Digital Solutions.

Project participants from Europe: University of Maribor (Slovenia), Polytechnic University of Crete (Greece), Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain), Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy).
