Shavkat Mirziyoyev draws attention to development of weightlifting and football in Uzbekistan

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 15 March viewed a presentation on the prospective development of weightlifting and football infrastructure in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the State Programme for the implementation of the "Uzbekistan - 2030" strategy in the "Year of Support for Youth and Business", it is planned to establish a weightlifting centre for the professional training of athletes in the city of Chirchik, as well as regional schools in several provinces.
There are also plans to expand the football infrastructure in the neighbourhoods, with the creation of men's and women's national teams of different age groups.
The new initiatives are aimed at attracting young people to sport, building a quality reserve and supporting national teams.
