EU ambassadors agree on 13th package of sanctions against Russia
The new sanctions package will go through a written procedure and will be officially approved by 24 February, the second anniversary of the start of the special operation.

The new sanctions list will include about 200 individuals and legal entities. The main purpose of the restrictive measures is to prevent third countries and companies from circumventing the sanctions. Special attention is paid to supply chains of components for drones that are used in the Russian military complex and find their way to the battlefield in Ukraine.

Several Russian companies and firms from various countries, including China and Türkiye, will fall under the sanctions. The previous version of the draft sanctions contained restrictions on exports of products of three Chinese companies due to supplies for the Russian army, as well as a proposal to blacklist the head of the DPRK Defence Ministry for supplying missiles to Russia.

Earlier, the EU extended the existing sanctions against Russia for another year.
