It was reported that Kazan Airport temporarily suspended the acceptance of flights. As a result, the flight was diverted to Samara, where it successfully landed at 7:43 AM local time.

The temporary suspension of operations at Kazan International Airport was due to security threats in the vicinity of the airport. Overnight on January 20, reports emerged about an attack on Kazan by Ukrainian drones.

According to Telegram channels and local media, explosions occurred on the grounds of the Gorbunov Aviation Plant in Kazan. Local residents reported hearing explosion sounds in several districts of the city.

In response to the explosions and security threats, Kazan Airport temporarily halted the acceptance and dispatch of flights. A representative of Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), Artem Korenyako, stated on his Telegram channel that these measures were taken "to ensure the safety of civilian aircraft flights."

Preliminary data indicates that the attack was carried out by a "Lyutiy" model drone. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far. As a result, security measures have been tightened in the capital of Tatarstan.

Passengers of the "Red Wings" flight safely reached Samara, where they were provided with all necessary services in accordance with aviation regulations. It was emphasized that this temporary measure was taken to ensure passenger safety. Once Kazan Airport resumes operations, the flight will continue to its original destination.
