Hajj and Umrah Pilgrims Must Be Vaccinated Against Meningitis
According to the World Health Organization, there has been an increase in cases of meningococcal infections worldwide. Health experts state that this infection is airborne, and when an infected person coughs or sneezes, the infection spreads to the surrounding area. Meningitis can occur at any age.

Therefore, pilgrims are advised to use protective masks in crowded places, adhere to personal hygiene, and take precautionary measures to avoid infection.

According to the new regulations introduced by the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia, the vaccination should be done at least 10 days before entering the kingdom. The vaccination certificate is valid for 3 years.

Citizens of Uzbekistan who wish to perform Hajj or Umrah can receive the meningitis vaccination at any central clinic or vaccination center across the country.
