As reported by France Info, the investigation began after a complaint from Eric Bothorel, a deputy from the centrist coalition "Together for the Republic." Cybercrime specialists are already conducting preliminary technical assessments of the platform.

Since December 2023, the European Union has been investigating X under the Digital Services Act. In January, the European Commission completed its preliminary investigation and is expected to impose a multimillion-dollar fine soon.

Additionally, a German court ruled that X must provide data related to election influence monitoring.
