In Ancient Olympia in Greece today held a ceremony of lighting the torch of the Summer Olympics in Paris. This is reported by the Greek media.

Reportedly, around 600 high-ranking officials were present, including the President of Greece, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, and the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach.

According to the schedule, the Olympic torch relay will continue in Greece for 11 days. Subsequently, on April 26, representatives of the organizing committee will transport the torch to Marseille aboard the 120-year-old sailing ship "Le Belem." Starting May 8, the torch relay will proceed throughout France and conclude on July 26 at the opening ceremony of the 33rd Summer Olympics.

The Summer Olympics in Paris will run from July 26 to August 11.
