India wants to study the sun more closely
After a successful mission to the Moon, India is about to send its first spacecraft to the Sun. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) announced on September 2 that it is preparing to launch the Aditya-L1 automatic station.

"The spacecraft will be placed in a halo orbit around the Lagrange 1 (L1) point in the Sun-Earth system, approximately 1.5 million km from Earth. A satellite in a halo orbit around the L1 point has a key advantage in continuously observing the sun without any obstacles, which gives a huge advantage in tracking solar activity and its impact on space climate in real time,” the agency said in a statement.
