A draft agreement was sent to Hezbollah and Israeli leaders.
A renewed truce between Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah group remains unlikely until the conflict in the Gaza Strip is resolved, Lebanese presidential adviser Amal Abu Zeid said.
He says the Lebanese government is in talks with the US and European countries about a possible truce between Israel and Hezbollah, but no concrete agreements have yet been reached.
According to Reuters, France has proposed to Lebanon's top leadership a bilateral draft agreement on a cessation of hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel. According to the document, the first stage envisages a cessation of hostilities, the second - the withdrawal of Lebanese forces 10 kilometres north of the border, the dismantling of all structures near the border and the cessation of Israeli flights over Lebanon.
In the final stage, the parties are to resume negotiations on the delineation of the land border with the support of UN peacekeepers.
