Netanyahu: ‘We’ll fight with our fingernails’ if needed

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged that Israel will stand alone and fight with fingernails, despite threats from the United States of further restrictions on weapon supplies if Israeli forces continue their advance on the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
"If we have to stand alone, we will stand alone. If we need to, we will fight with our fingernails. But we have much more than fingernails," Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu made his remarks on May 9 after delegations from Israel and Hamas left ceasefire talks in Cairo. It is unclear whether the talks were interrupted or simply suspended. Hamas stated early Friday that the “ball is now completely in the hands of the occupation [Israel]”. Authorities of the Jewish state stated that the version of the agreement proposed by Hamas does not meet its demands, as reported by The Guardian.
