OTS Secretary General Takes Part in Great Hun-Turkic Kurultai in Hungary

Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), His Excellency Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, took part in the Great Hun-Turkic Kurultai held in Bugac, Hungary, from 14 to 16 August 2026.
The three-day event, organized by the Hungarian Turan Foundation, brought together representatives of more than 27 Turkic communities, including participants from OTS member and observer states.
The Kurultai featured traditional sports, music, handicrafts and cultural activities. This year, recently discovered archaeological finds and anthropological facial reconstructions were presented for the first time.
The participation of the OTS Secretary General highlighted the Organization’s commitment to preserving and promoting the shared cultural and historical heritage of the Turkic world, as well as strengthening cultural cooperation and people-to-people ties among member and observer states.
During his visit to Hungary, Kubanychbek Omuraliev also attended a commemorative ceremony in Lakitelek.
