Over 2.8 million tourists visited Uzbekistan in the first five months

From January to May 2024, more than 2.8 million foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes, according to the press service of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
This figure increased by 248.2 thousand people, or 9.6%, compared to the same period last year.
The number of foreign citizens who arrived in the Republic of Uzbekistan for tourism purposes in the first five months of 2024, by country, is as follows:
Tajikistan - 871.5 thousand people
Kyrgyz Republic - 857 thousand people
Kazakhstan - 498.2 thousand people
Russia - 289.6 thousand people
Turkmenistan - 53.8 thousand people
Türkiye - 42.1 thousand people
India - 23.2 thousand people
China - 22.8 thousand people
Italy - 15.3 thousand people
South Korea - 15.1 thousand people
Other countries - 148.7 thousand people
A visa-free regime was introduced in Uzbekistan for citizens of 86 countries on January 1, 2020.
According to the U.S. State Department, Uzbekistan is classified as a safe country for tourism, where standard precautions should be taken.
