As the capital continues to grow, improving transport infrastructure remains a top priority. The 7-kilometer section of the road now features 10 lanes — six for cars, two for buses, and two for parking.

The President traveled the route by bus, assessing the upgrades and speaking with passengers.
For the first time in Tashkent, a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system has been introduced, improving bus speeds and passenger comfort. The $19.2 million project doubled the hourly passenger capacity to 6,000 people, raised the road’s throughput to 40,000 vehicles per day, and increased average speeds from 23 to 30 km/h while reducing accidents.

The street now includes 21 new bus stops, 463 smart traffic lights, bicycle lanes, green areas, and modern irrigation and drainage systems.
“If we hadn’t built new metro lines and purchased modern buses, movement in Tashkent would be extremely difficult. We’re improving roads and transport so that people can travel comfortably — and we’ll continue this work in all our cities,” said President Mirziyoyev.
