On December 6, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected a new electric train intended for the Tashkent-Khojakent route. The President traveled to Khojakent on this train and got acquainted with its capabilities. During the trip, the railway industry and the work carried out within the framework of the "Yashil Makon" project were discussed with officials.
In accordance with the decision of the head of state dated October 10, 2023, the joint-stock company "Uzbekistan Railways" is being transformed. Within the framework of this organization, six independent enterprises engaged in infrastructure, car maintenance and passenger transportation began to operate.
At the same time, the train fleet was expanded. Much attention is paid to improving the comfort of passengers and tourists. New trains were purchased, and Afrosiab electric trains began to run more often to such historical cities as Tashkent and Samarkand, Bukhara and Karshi.
Over the past period, more than 3 thousand kilometers of railways have been electrified in the country.
The electrification of the Bukhara-Urgench-Khiva railway line is nearing completion, and work on the Myskin-Nukus line is continuing at a rapid pace.
An electrified railway was also built around Tashkent, which increased the capacity of trains by 30%.
A new electric train now runs along the Tashkent-Khojakent route. The head of our state boarded this train and saw its movement and comfort.
The carriages are comfortable and light, comfortable for passengers. The number of seats is 586. Information boards and a fire safety system are installed. The train can reach speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour. There are three daily trips in each direction.
