Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Astana, where he will participate in the SCO summit, according to the Kremlin's website.

"The President of Russia has arrived in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, to attend the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization," the release states.

The SCO summit will be held in Astana on July 3 and 4 under the slogan "Strengthening multilateral dialogue: striving for sustainable peace and development.” The main program of the summit is scheduled for tomorrow.

The SCO was founded in 2001. Its members include India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan. Observer countries are Afghanistan, Belarus, and Mongolia. Partner countries are Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cambodia, Nepal, UAE, Türkiye, and Sri Lanka. Belarus is expected to become a full member of the SCO at the upcoming summit.

For your information: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, will also visit the city of Astana on July 3-4 for a working visit to participate in the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the "SCO Plus" format meeting.
