Putin: Russian peace proposals envisage the end of the conflict
"I expect that, unlike many Western politicians who did not even want to go into the essence of the initiative we put forward, the forum participants will approach its consideration thoughtfully and rationally, and will be able to see that it really provides for the possibility of stopping the conflict and moving to its political and diplomatic settlement," the message read by Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said.

The X International Scientific and Expert Forum "Primakov Readings" on the theme “Russia in the Global Context” is taking place in Moscow on 25-26 June. This is an annual international meeting of experts in international relations and world economy. As part of the forum, leading scholars, politicians and diplomats from around the world engage in an open dialogue on global and regional challenges and threats.

On 14 June, Putin made new peace proposals to settle the conflict in Ukraine, which envisage recognition of the status of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions as Russian regions, consolidation of Ukraine's non-aligned and nuclear-free status, its demilitarization and denazification, and lifting of anti-Russian sanctions.
