Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada adopted several major decisions, approving the resignation of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and the entire Cabinet of Ministers while extending martial law and nationwide mobilization for another 90 days.

Rada Resets Government: Cabinet Dismissed, Mobilization Extended
Lawmakers approved the prime minister's resignation after Svyrydenko submitted her request to parliament. Under Ukrainian law, the resignation of the prime minister automatically terminates the mandate of the entire Cabinet. Further ministerial appointments and government reshuffles are expected following the formation of a new cabinet.

During the same session, parliament voted to extend martial law and nationwide mobilization from August 2 until October 31. The extension of mobilization was supported by 311 lawmakers, while 313 deputies voted to prolong martial law. This marks the twentieth extension of both measures since they were first introduced in February 2022.

Martial law and mobilization remain key legal instruments for the country's functioning amid the ongoing armed conflict. At the same time, the government's reshuffle is expected to bring further personnel changes across the executive branch.

Ukrainian authorities describe the government transition as part of the renewal of the executive and the continuation of state governance under wartime conditions. The parliamentary decisions therefore mark a new phase in Ukraine's political restructuring while maintaining the country's current security framework and legal regime.
