Several Russian restaurant chains are planning to open establishments in the CIS countries, including Uzbekistan. Among them are "Шоколадница", "Мясо и рыба", "Якитория" and others.
Several Russian restaurants are planning to open their first establishments in the capitals of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in 2023-2024. At the first stage, one or three establishments will appear there, business representatives told Izvestia.
"We are currently working on opening establishments in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Armenia. We are already negotiating with landlords in the locations we are interested in," said the owner of the Tigrus Group holding (brands "Osteria Mario", "Shvili", “Zest”, "Bar BQ") Henrik Winter.
The “Мясо и рыба” chain is also considering opening outlets in all CIS countries, confirmed the owner of the franchise network Sergey Mironov. "Шоколадница" has similar plans, said its CEO Oleg Podgorny.
Restaurants that already have their outlets there are also planning to develop in the CIS. For example, Якитория operates in the capitals of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Armenia, but plans to enter new regions, said Alexander Muratov, the company's development director.
At the same time, Russian business in the CIS countries still has risks when opening establishments, says Elena Perepelitsa, CEO of the Restcon consulting company. The need to adapt to new consumer tastes, lower purchasing power, etc. As a result, the opening of the first points can be up to 20 percent more expensive than in the Russian Federation, she believes.
