Sherbek Buranov appointed new mayor of Narpay district

This was announced at an extraordinary session of the district council of people's deputies held in Narpay district, the press service of Samarkand administration reports.
Rakhmanov Sherzod Shukhratovich, who headed the district since 2020, was relieved of the post of Narpay district mayor due to his transfer to another job.
The deputies approved the candidature of Sherbek Erkinovich Buranov for this position during the session.
Sherbek Buranov was born in 1985 in Narpay district of Samarkand region. Since 2003, he has worked in various positions in the banking system. Since 2021, he has been a member of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) Committee on Countering Corruption and Judicial and Legal Issues.
Narpay district is an administrative unit in Samarkand province of Uzbekistan. Its administrative centre is the town of Aktash. Narpay District was established in the 1920s. In 1938 it was included in Samarkand province.
