Tashkent region holds enormous potential for investment, exports, and job creation, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated at a meeting on September 11.
Over the past eight years, the region has attracted $18 billion in investments and opened 10,000 enterprises. This year, exports exceeded $1 billion in just eight months — a record for the region.
Industrial parks worth $2.1 billion are being built with Chinese investors, while more than 40 trillion soums will be allocated for development programs in 2025–2027. These measures aim to reduce unemployment and poverty to 4.5%.
Mirziyoyev stressed that proximity to the capital gives the region the largest consumer market in the country and “a huge opportunity” for multiple growth.
Upcoming projects include auto parts production in Bekabad, food and textile enterprises in Akkurgan, and tourism complexes along the Karasu canal. The total investment package amounts to $2.5 billion and will create over 11,000 jobs.
Plans also include connecting all districts to Tashkent with high-speed electric trains, expanding horticulture (lemons, grapes, raspberries, broccoli), and supporting farmers through the Agrostar company.
The President set a clear goal: turn every mahalla of Tashkent region into a territory free from unemployment and poverty.
