The President reviewed efforts to improve neighborhood infrastructure and boost residents' incomes

During his visit to the Republic of Karakalpakstan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the "Diykan Arna" *mahalla* (neighborhood) in the Nukus district and inspected the living conditions established for the local population.
The neighborhood is home to over a thousand families, totaling more than 3,600 residents. Projects implemented here aim to create decent living conditions, ensure employment, and increase incomes.
The "Smart Mahalla" system has been introduced to enable the prompt handling of citizens' appeals, maintain accurate demographic records, and monitor infrastructure status using digital technologies; it also fosters local entrepreneurship.
Special attention is also being paid to improving social infrastructure. Under the investment program, a modern kindergarten with a capacity of 60 children was commissioned at a cost of 4.5 billion soums. An additional 1 billion soums from the local budget was allocated for the construction of a football field and an outdoor workout area.
Adopting the "One Mahalla – One Product" principle, beekeeping has been identified as a key avenue for increasing residents' incomes. Currently, more than 20 households in the neighborhood are engaged in beekeeping. Individual operations maintain between 50 and 100 hives, yielding up to one ton of honey annually.
The Head of State visited the home of local resident Bakhtiyar Zhubaev to inspect a honey processing workshop and the process of manufacturing beehive boxes.
Two tons of processed honey are sold here per season, generating an annual profit of approximately 200 million soums. The workshop produces over 250 beehive boxes each year, bringing in up to another 80 million soums in revenue. By the end of the year, the Beekeepers' Association plans to organize beekeeping operations in another 100 households on a cooperative basis. This will provide a stable source of income for even more families.
While there, the President held a warm and substantive conversation with the *mahalla* leadership, representatives of the older generation, and the youth.
It was noted that the development of the Aral Sea region and the improvement of the population's living standards are among the priorities of state policy. Emphasis was placed on the fact that the scope of the constructive work initiated in the *mahallas* will expand, and the pace of its implementation will accelerate.
