The President toured a new residential complex under construction in Kokand
Uzbekistan
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to the Fergana Region began with a tour of the construction work at the "Yangi Uzbekistan" residential complex in Kokand.
Our country places particular emphasis on improving the living conditions of residents and introducing modern urban development standards in the regions. This is facilitated by the locally constructed "Yangi Uzbekistan" residential complexes, which have become a key part of major social projects aimed at improving the well-being of our people.
The new complex, being built on the site of the ancient city of Kokand, is becoming a modern center, transforming the economic and social landscape of the region.
Kokand has long been a city with a high population density and a developed entrepreneurial community. Consequently, the demand for housing here is growing every year. Outdated infrastructure and limited living space require the city to be expanded using new technologies.
A residential complex, the construction of which is being carried out in accordance with the instructions given by the President two years ago during his visit to the Fergana region, has become a practical solution to this problem. Here, families are provided with modern apartments with all necessary amenities.
A total of 1.85 trillion soums has been allocated for the project. A comprehensive infrastructure designed to accommodate 25,000 people is being created on the site. Along with 84 multi-story buildings, the construction of modern schools, preschools, a higher education institution, a business center, a shopping mall, and recreational parks is planned.
This approach will allow residents of the new complex to work, receive an education, access services, and enjoy meaningful recreation within walking distance of their homes.
The first phase of the project has now been successfully completed: 56 ten-story buildings, comprising 4,394 apartments, have been commissioned. Apartments with complete renovations are available to residents with a down payment of 35 percent, at a rate of 16 percent per annum, for a term of 20 years.
The head of state inspected the existing conditions and furnishings in one of the new apartments. He emphasized the social significance of the complex, noting that the conditions created here should not only improve people's lives but also foster a modern way of thinking and lifestyle.
He had a sincere conversation with representatives of the older generation of the Fergana region.
They noted that the principle of a social state is being consistently implemented locally: modern educational and medical institutions are being created, mahallas are being improved, new businesses are opening, and entrepreneurial opportunities are expanding. All of this, they said, is changing people's daily lives, strengthening well-being and social stability. They expressed gratitude to the head of state for the ongoing reforms.
Here, the President also viewed presentations on the second phase of construction of the Yangi Uzbekistan complex and the development of the city of Kokand.
