President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as part of his visit to Kuwait, visited the "Palace of As-Salam" museum - the former residence of foreign leaders, transformed into a unique repository of history and culture. During the visit, the prospects for deepening cultural cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
The "As-Salam Palace" Museum is located in the city of Kuwait and occupies an area of 32 thousand square meters. Built in 1960-1964 in the traditional Arabic architectural style, it was used until 1990 as an official residence for foreign delegations. In 2019, the palace was transformed into a museum, where unique artifacts reflecting the centuries-old history and cultural heritage of Kuwait are collected.
The President of Uzbekistan familiarized himself with the museum's exposition and noted its significance as a center for preserving cultural heritage. During the visit, issues of expanding Uzbek-Kuwaiti cooperation in museum affairs, preserving historical heritage, implementing humanitarian programs, and holding joint exhibitions were discussed.
At the end of the visit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev left an entry in the Museum's Book of Honorary Guests, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasizing the importance of further cultural exchange.
