The UN adopted a resolution on Turkmenistan's neutrality
At the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, the resolution "Constant Neutrality of Turkmenistan" was unanimously approved. The document establishes the country's neutral status as the basis of its foreign policy and emphasizes its importance for regional stability.

Turkmenistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Aksultan Atayeva, noted that the country's neutrality is not only a foreign policy principle but also a constitutional law based on the historical traditions of the Turkmen people.

In the text of the resolution, the UN recommended using the territories of neutral countries for peaceful negotiations, which once again confirms the importance of Turkmenistan in international diplomacy. The UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia already operates in Ashgabat, and earlier, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the UN General Assembly declared December 12 as International Neutrality Day.

The recognition of Turkmenistan as a neutral country confirms its key role in maintaining peace and security in the region.
