Steve Witkoff, a special envoy U.S. President Donald Trump, has announced an upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, the talks will take place on Thursday at Moscow’s initiative.
Steve Witkoff, special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump, said in an interview with CNBC that he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday. He noted that the meeting was initiated by the Russian side.
Earlier, Russian state media reported that Witkoff had met Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev in Davos. According to TASS, their talks lasted about two hours. The U.S. side has not officially commented on the meeting.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov declined to disclose details of the discussions. However, he said that Moscow considers it important to receive information from Washington regarding negotiations with European countries and Ukraine, as well as to hear the proposals being discussed in this context.
