Türkiye Seeks Interpol Red Notice for Netanyahu

Türkiye has initiated a process seeking the international wanted status of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over a case linked to the interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was carrying humanitarian aid toward Gaza. Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gürlek said the request had been submitted to the Interior Ministry, while the relevant documents were forwarded to the Foreign Ministry.

Türkiye Seeks Interpol Red Notice for Netanyahu
According to Gürlek, on July 14, 2026, Istanbul’s 11th High Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Israeli national Afek Moskovitch on genocide charges. A total of 35 defendants are being prosecuted in the case. The charges include crimes against humanity, genocide, aggravated deprivation of liberty, torture, intentional injury, property damage, aggravated robbery and hijacking of means of transportation.

“We will not allow the crimes committed in Gaza to be covered up or those responsible to be protected by a shield of impunity,” Gürlek said, adding that Türkiye would use all available mechanisms under national and international law.

A Red Notice is a request to law-enforcement authorities worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a wanted person. The final decision on whether to issue the notice rests with Interpol.
