Uktam Umurzakov: A Hero of Science and Education

Today marks the third anniversary of Uktam Umurzakov's passing. As the Chairman of the Republic’s Higher Education Council, Rector of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, and Doctor of Economics, Uktam Umurzakov left a significant mark in his field.

Born on August 20, 1952, Uktam Umurzakov dedicated his life to science and education. He was a laureate of the Uzbekistan Youth Union Award, received the "20 Years of Independence of Uzbekistan" medal, and the "Excellence in Water Management of Uzbekistan" badge. His scientific work and organizational skills earned him recognition not only within the institute but also across the republic.
Throughout his nearly 50-year academic career, Uktam Umurzakov authored over 120 scientific and methodological works. Under his leadership, international CONMECHYDRO conferences provided a platform for scientific research. As a caring and demanding mentor, he supervised the research of over 20 doctors and candidates of science.
Today, we respectfully remember Uktam Umurzakov and appreciate his immense contribution to science. He was not only a great scientist but also a sincere teacher, kind leader, and dedicated individual.
