Uzbekistan and Iran plan to develop co-operation in the field of energy
"The peak consumption periods in Iran and Uzbekistan are different. When Iran has surplus electricity, it can export it to Uzbekistan, while in summer, when the country needs more electricity, its surplus is imported from Uzbekistan. We are already discussing this issue from the technical and legal side and hope to start such co-operation with Uzbekistan," Mehrabian said.

Uzbek Energy Minister Mirzamakhmudov emphasised that due to the improved economic situation in Uzbekistan, the use of gas and oil products has increased sharply. Therefore, one of the areas of cooperation with Iran's oil industry could be the construction of oil and gas processing plants and the development of gas fields.
