Uzbekistan and Jordan are seeking to give new momentum to their bilateral partnership by expanding political dialogue and practical cooperation in the economy, investment and transport. The foreign ministers of the two countries discussed key prospects for further engagement.
On July 6, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi.
The sides reviewed the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level in Samarkand last year, as well as the schedule of upcoming visits and events. They stressed the importance of strengthening political cooperation and coordination between the two foreign ministries.
Particular attention was given to trade, investment, transport and logistics, tourism, agriculture, education and cultural and humanitarian ties. The launch of direct Amman–Tashkent flights and the activities of the Business Council are expected to provide additional momentum to economic cooperation.
The ministers also exchanged views on current international and regional issues and confirmed their readiness to continue cooperation within the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and other multilateral platforms.
Bakhtiyor Saidov stressed that Uzbekistan views Jordan as an important and reliable partner in the Middle East and intends to consistently broaden the scope of bilateral cooperation.
