Uzbekistan-China: developing interregional co-operation

Today, on 28th March, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, met with the Chairperson of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Erkin Tuniyaz. This was reported by the spokesperson for the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Bekzod Khidoyatov.

During the meeting, it was noted that bilateral relations are strengthening, and the close, sincere, and friendly ties between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Chairperson of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, are gaining increasing importance.

In recent years, interregional cooperation has been developing rapidly. Just last year, leaders from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, as well as from the provinces of Shaanxi, Shandong, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Anhui, and others, visited Uzbekistan.

During the dialogue, the need for further expansion of work in this direction was emphasized, as well as the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of investment, industrial cooperation, energy, transport and logistics, agriculture, education, tourism, and other areas.
