Uzbekistan is preparing to join the WTO
"We understand that the process of joining the WTO is very complex. No country can achieve real change without genuine reforms. For Uzbekistan, joining the WTO is not an end in itself. The complex but important reforms currently being implemented are primarily aimed at strengthening our economy and improving the lives of our people. Our country also has something to offer to the Organization and the world. Being the most populous country in Central Asia, with a growing young and talented population, we can provide the world with new ideas, original skills, and services," she wrote.

Membership in the WTO promises member countries a number of advantages, such as stability in commercial operations, access to markets, and price predictability. These factors contribute to attracting investments and ensuring economic growth.

Uzbekistan intends to join the WTO by 2026.

It should be reminded that the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on June 5th. They discussed the practical measures being taken for our country's accession to the WTO.
