Parliamentary diplomacy remains an important instrument for strengthening international cooperation, and Uzbekistan continues to use this platform to deepen dialogue with its foreign partners.

The Uzbek parliamentary delegation participated in the 33rd Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, dedicated to international law, security and cooperation across the OSCE region. The delegation included Odiljon Mamatkarimov, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science, Education and Healthcare.

More than 250 delegations from Europe, North America and Central Asia took part in the session. Discussions focused on parliamentary diplomacy, international security, democratic institutions, human rights and conflict prevention.

During meetings of the Central Asia and Silk Road Group, the Uzbek delegation presented the reforms being implemented under the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy, as well as progress in parliamentary modernization, education, healthcare and social policy.

On the sidelines of the session, the delegation also held meetings with the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Secretary General, the Assembly’s Special Representative for Central Asia and the head of the Dutch delegation to discuss further development of interparliamentary cooperation.
