According to the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, from January to May 2024, the country's automotive industry produced a significant number of passenger cars.
Cobalt became the leader in production, reaching a volume of 57,542 units.
The production figures of other models for this period are as follows:
Damas - 31 239 units
Tracker - 19 279 units
Onix - 14 905 units
Lacetti-Gentra - 11 913 units
KIA - 7 433 units
Chery - 4 000 units
Haval - 230 units
Exeed - 93 units
Special passenger cars - 10 198 units
The automotive industry occupies one of the leading positions in the economy of Uzbekistan, providing employment for a significant number of the population. Up to 250,000 cars are produced in the country every year. Uzbekistan ranks 28th - 37th among the world producers in terms of motor vehicles production and is in the second place after Russia in the post-Soviet space, as well as in the first place among the countries of Central Asia.
Since 1998, Uzbekistan has been a member of the International Organisation of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA).
