Uzbekistan to abolish certain VAT exemptions

VAT exemptions on certain services and sales, as well as on imported goods, are cancelled.
Some privileges on value added tax are cancelled. This is reported by the press service of the Tax Committee.
Reportedly, from April 2024, some VAT exemptions will be cancelled. Types of trade and services, import of some goods to Uzbekistan will be subject to input VAT.
The following goods will start to be taxed:
Turnover on sales of:
medical services;
veterinary services;
medicinal products;
veterinary medicines, medical and veterinary products.
Importation into the territory of Uzbekistan:
medicines;
veterinary medicines;
medical and veterinary products;
as well as raw materials imported according to the list determined by the legislation.
Turnover on realisation of services rendered to the population on:
water supply;
sewerage;
sanitary cleaning;
heat supply.
