Uzbekistan to Modernize Waste Management System
Uzbekistan
Starting January 1, 2026, Uzbekistan will introduce major reforms in waste management. According to the Presidential Decree, these changes aim to enhance transparency, increase public involvement, and improve communication between businesses and citizens.
One of the key updates will be the ability to monitor online tenders for waste management services. Additionally, video surveillance cameras will be installed at waste collection points, allowing residents to oversee the process.
All waste collection vehicles will be equipped with GPS tracking systems for real-time monitoring. A "Call center" will be established to handle complaints and suggestions regarding sanitation services.
Clear information on the geographical boundaries of service areas and the location of waste collection containers will be provided to the public. Residents will also be able to view the schedule for waste collection.
