Uzbekistan wins first medal at World Universiade
Uzbek Kamoliddin Bakhtiyarov won a bronze medal in judo competitions at the XXXI Summer World Universiade in the Chinese city of Chengdu. This was reported by the press service of the National Olympic Committee.

It is noted that Kamoliddin Bakhtiyarov, who participated in competitions in the weight category up to 60 kg, successfully held qualifying competitions and, following the results of fights with representatives of Chinese Taipei and Mongolia, won a bronze medal in the quarterfinals and semifinals.

Recall that at the Universiade Games more than 5,100 student athletes from 119 countries compete for 269 medals.

The Universiade games will be held until August 8. This year, the delegation of Uzbekistan will take part in the Universiade with 77 athletes in such sports as taekwondo, judo, wushu, gymnastics, tennis, fencing and athletics.
