On May 23, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held a meeting with the European Union's Special Representative for Central Asia, Terhi Hakala.

We welcome the European partners to support our collective efforts in building strong global bridges," the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan wrote on his Telegram channel.
It is worth noting that May 18 marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Union. It was also announced that the first official EU-Central Asia summit will be held in Samarkand.
