Verdict Announced in Komil Allamjonov Assassination Attempt Case

The Military Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan has delivered its verdict against a criminal group involved in the attempted assassination of Komil Allamjonov. The main defendants have been sentenced to up to 23 years in prison.

According to the Supreme Court's press service, on February 12, the court announced its verdict for ten defendants accused of attempting to take Allamjonov's life. As a result of the trial, Shukhrat Rasulov, Ismoil Jahongirov, and Shohruh Akhmedov were sentenced to 23 years in prison. Javlon Yunusov received 18 years and 6 months, while Doniyor Toshkhojayev was sentenced to 7 years. The remaining five defendants were given varying sentences based on their degree of involvement in the crime.

According to the General Prosecutor's Office, the attack took place on October 26 last year at approximately 1:40 AM. Allamjonov was driving a Range Rover on Ifor Street in the Kibray district of Tashkent region when several shots were fired at his vehicle. The assailants fled the scene after the attack.

The trial lasted several months, during which all details of the crime, its organizers, and perpetrators were identified. The verdict marks an important step in ensuring justice and holding the guilty parties accountable.
