WHO still working to identify the origins of COVID-19
The World Health Organisation (WHO) will continue to find out the causes of the COVID-19 pandemic. The organisation's director general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said this in his address to the Scientific Advisory Group of Experts on Emerging Dangerous Pathogens (SAGO) meeting.

"We continue… the analyses of the earliest known or suspected cases of COVID-19," Ghebreyesus said.

He said more analysis was needed on the early cases, the role of the Huangan market in Wuhan in animal-to-human transmission, and more information is needed on potential biosecurity breaches in laboratories and farms in areas where the first covid cases were reported.

"This is a priority for WHO, not only because it will help us to prevent future pandemics, but because we owe it to the millions who have died from this virus," the director general said.
