An extended session of the Scientific Council of the Center for Islamic Civilization was held in Tashkent, focusing on the development of new cultural initiatives and the global promotion of Uzbekistan’s spiritual and scientific heritage.
In cooperation with the Uzbekistan Cinematography Agency, more than 150 short films and video clips are being produced for the center’s exhibitions. The project aims to present the rich history of Islamic civilization through modern cinematic storytelling.
The initiative will feature world-famous film and art stars as narrators. Among them is the legendary British actor and two-time Oscar winner Ben Kingsley, renowned for his roles in “Gandhi”, “Schindler’s List”, “The Physician: The Student of Avicenna” and “Prince of Persia”. His portrayal of Ibn Sina (Avicenna) has made his participation especially symbolic.
Negotiations are also underway with Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Mel Gibson, Burak Özçivit, and Angelina Jolie to join future projects as narrators.
According to Rajab Rajabov, Deputy Director of the Center, every video undergoes scientific review to ensure “each frame reflects truth, history, and enlightenment.”
The project is being implemented in partnership with major global broadcasters such as CNN, BBC, and Euronews, aiming to introduce Uzbekistan’s Islamic heritage to an international audience.
A special film voiced by Ben Kingsley will highlight the Center’s mission to bridge the past, present, and future through knowledge, art, and spirituality.
