Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan to Hold “Strength of Unity – 2026” Joint Exercises

Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan will hold joint military exercises titled “Strength of Unity – 2026”. The three-stage drills will take place at several training areas in Azerbaijan and will involve military personnel, combat equipment, naval and aviation assets, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles.
The exercises will bring together personnel from the armed forces of the three countries. According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense, the drills will be held at the Gizilgaya Training Center in the Karabakh economic region, the Garabaghlar Training Center in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and the Boyuk Zira training area in Azerbaijan’s sector of the Caspian Sea.
The main objective is to increase the readiness of units to conduct joint operations. The exercise programme also includes improving troop coordination, standardizing training procedures and enhancing the combat capabilities of participating units. Personnel, combat equipment, naval and aviation assets, and unmanned aerial vehicles will be used during the drills.
Preparations for the exercise are already underway. Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defence reported that units of the 14th Mechanized Infantry Brigade began moving from the Kars garrison to the Gizilgaya and Garabaghlar training areas in Azerbaijan on September 15. Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry also confirmed that Turkish military personnel and aviation assets had arrived in the country to participate in the exercise.
Under the approved plan, the necessary arrangements have been made to accommodate the personnel and address other organizational matters. The Azerbaijani authorities have not specified the dates for the conclusion of the exercises in their published announcement.
“Strength of Unity – 2026” will therefore combine land, air and maritime components across three training locations, with the participating forces carrying out joint training tasks focused on coordination and operational readiness.
