On May 29, 2024, on the sidelines of the third "Central Asia - Italy" foreign ministers' meeting, a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Central Asian countries took place in Rome, reports the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.

During the meeting, the parties considered the prospects of cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and Italy in political, economic, trade, water-energy, environmental, transport, tourism and educational spheres, as well as exchanged views on topical issues of regional and international cooperation, including threats and challenges of our time, the situation in Afghanistan and the Middle East.

On May 28, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held a roundtable meeting with the participation of about 30 Italian companies during his visit to Italy.

It is worth noting that today in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, the International Conference titled "Road to Tien Shan" began, organized by the Ministry of Transport of the country and the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). The international conference is also attended by representatives of the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Ilkhom Mahkamov, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The conference discusses issues related to the development of international freight transport between the countries of Central Asia, the CIS and the European Union.
