From Agreements to Action: Uzbek Medical Professionals to Gain Opportunities in Italy

Uzbekistan and Italy's Tuscany region have moved to the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level. New joint initiatives in healthcare and education will create additional opportunities for Uzbek medical professionals to receive training, enhance their qualifications, and pursue professional careers in Italy.
Prospects for cooperation were discussed during a meeting between Tuscany Governor Eugenio Giani and Bekhzod Musaev, Head of the Migration Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The talks were held as part of implementing the instructions of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev following his meeting with the Governor of Tuscany on July 14 this year.
Eugenio Giani stressed that international cooperation is a key driver of national development.
"History shows that nations achieve progress when they cooperate with one another and adopt the best practices," the Governor said.
The central focus of the meeting was the creation of conditions enabling Uzbek doctors and nurses to work in healthcare institutions across Tuscany in well-paid positions. The parties also agreed to develop a joint educational program for specialists planning to work in Italy. The program will include Italian language training as well as professional education in accordance with the requirements and standards of the Italian healthcare system.
During the visit, the Uzbek delegation also met with Riccardo Zucchi, Rector of the University of Pisa, one of Europe's oldest universities, founded in 1343. The delegation also toured the university's new clinical complex, currently under construction, which could become one of the key platforms for the professional activities of Uzbek medical specialists in the future.
The visit concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding cooperation in workforce training, exchange of experience, and joint projects in healthcare and education. The agreements reached create new opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tuscany while providing additional opportunities for the professional development and employment of Uzbek specialists in Italy.
