Implementation of priority tasks in the energy sector was reviewed

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on measures to implement the tasks set for the energy sector.
On July 27 of this year, a videoconference meeting on priority issues in the fuel and energy sector was held under the chairmanship of the head of state. At the meeting, work on managing the sector, ensuring the stability of electricity and gas supplies at the local level, and reducing the number of accidents and energy losses was critically analyzed.
In particular, tasks were identified for organizing work in the electricity and gas supply sector by district and mahalla, creating a regional energy balance, conducting an inventory of networks and equipment, thoroughly preparing for the autumn-winter period, and the widespread implementation of digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
The presentation reviewed the current work and future plans of the new leadership of the Ministry of Energy, the Regional Electric Grids joint-stock company, and the Uzenergoinspektsiya for organizing the implementation of these instructions. In particular, a special headquarters for improving electricity and gas supply is currently operating in the Yangiyul district. Open dialogues are held with businesses and the public, during which inquiries related to outages, power shortages, reduced gas pressure, obtaining technical specifications, and outstanding debts are directly addressed.
Based on the experience of the Yangiyul district, plans are underway to create a similar model system in 13 more districts, and subsequently to implement it in other regions.
Measures are being strengthened to ensure the legality and transparency of technical specifications for connecting businesses to electricity and gas networks, as well as to prevent corruption.
In preparation for the autumn-winter period, work is underway to upgrade problematic networks and equipment, reduce energy losses, improve energy efficiency, and eliminate the causes of emergency outages. Furthermore, mechanisms are being developed to communicate instructions to industry employees via an electronic system, monitor their implementation, and evaluate performance based on specific indicators.
The Ministry of Energy has been tasked with establishing a unified and effective industry management system, coordinating the activities of industry enterprises, ensuring the timely implementation of investment projects, and systematically organizing preparations for the autumn-winter period.
Regional Electric Grids JSC has been tasked with improving the stability of local power supplies, gradually modernizing infrastructure, reducing outages, and improving service quality.
Uzenergoinspektsiya has been tasked with strengthening oversight of the rational use of energy resources, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, reducing losses, and expediting energy audits of large consumers.
Special attention has also been paid to preparing communities with limited gas supply for the autumn-winter period, broadly engaging the private sector in liquefied gas supplies, and utilizing artificial intelligence to monitor processes in the industry.
The head of state instructed responsible officials to ensure the implementation of all measures based on a targeted approach and accurate calculations, as well as a stable supply of electricity and gas to the population and economic sectors.
