Individuals Attempting to Illegally Export $1.27 Million Detained

An attempt to illegally export $1,273,170 from Uzbekistan has been prevented.
Officers of the State Security Service, in cooperation with customs authorities, conducted a special operation at the "Navoi" border customs checkpoint located in the Tashkent district of Tashkent region.
During the operation, a Lacetti vehicle traveling towards a neighboring country was stopped. Upon inspection in the presence of witnesses, a plastic bag containing $874,000 was found with a passenger, a resident of the Tashkent district.
It was determined that the individual intended to transport these funds to the Republic of Kazakhstan without declaring them, bypassing customs control.
The operation continued, leading to the inspection of a temporary residence in the capital, where a resident had been collecting foreign currency from market traders in Tashkent and passing it to the mentioned woman. During the search, an additional $399,170, prepared for illegal export to Kazakhstan, was found.
As a result of the special operation, a total of $1,273,170 was seized as material evidence.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detained individuals under Article 25-182, Part 2, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code. A court has ordered their pretrial detention. Investigations are ongoing.
