Key Changes in Legislation Starting August 1

Starting August 1, 2024, significant changes will come into effect in Uzbekistan's legislation. The portal norma.uz presents the main highlights.
Firstly, deadlines have been established for the acceptance of results of investment and social obligations by participants of small industrial zones and youth entrepreneurship entities. These results will be accepted by the unified directorates managing small and youth industrial zones within 3 months.
Additionally, the issuance of standard license plates will be done randomly through automatic generation. Land plots for modern service complexes and facilities will be auctioned.
From the new academic year, all students of state universities will be able to apply online for student dormitory placements. The application process will start on August 1 and continue until the end of the academic year.
Finally, in August 2024, an international business forum will be held in Karakalpakstan. The forum aims to attract foreign investors and present major international manufacturing brands.
Football fans will receive train ticket discounts. From August to October 2024, there will be 50% discounts on train tickets for individuals accredited for the Futsal World Championship and for foreign and domestic fans with championship tickets.
