One of the Largest U.S. Companies Registered as a Taxpayer in Uzbekistan

One of the world’s largest online retailers, eBay, has registered to pay Value Added Tax (VAT) in Uzbekistan. According to the international news agency Kazinform, alongside eBay, other foreign internet companies such as Netflix, Amazon, Google, Apple, Zoom, and others have also registered with the specialized tax authority for foreign companies.
"From January to September 2024, 61 foreign companies providing electronic services in Uzbekistan paid $7.8 million in taxes to the state budget, which is 2.1 times higher compared to the same period in 2023," the publication stated.
It is noted that currently, there are 64 foreign companies paying VAT in the country, and at the end of last year, new requirements were introduced for companies providing e-commerce services.
As a reminder, according to the presidential decree "On Additional Measures to Ensure Equal Conditions for Entrepreneurs and a Fair Competitive Environment," profit tax and VAT rates in Uzbekistan will not be increased until 2028.
