Shavkat Mirziyoyev to leave for Kazakhstan today

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will be in Astana on November 2-3 at the invitation of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to participate in the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organisation of Turkic States. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

The agenda of the summit includes issues of further development of multilateral cooperation within the organisation, primarily in trade-economic, investment, transport and communication, environmental, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.

The heads of delegations will also exchange views on topical issues of international policy and regional cooperation. A number of joint documents are expected to be adopted as a result of the events.

This year, Uzbekistan is chairing the Organisation of Turkic States. More than 100 important events aimed at deepening multilateral cooperation have been held.

Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Turkey are members of the organisation, while Hungary and Turkmenistan are observers.
