The Russian food embargo, imposed in response to sanctions in 2014, has been extended until 2024. This was announced in a decree signed by President Vladimir Putin.

“Extend the validity period of certain special economic measures provided for by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of August 6, 2014 N 560 “On the application of certain special economic measures to ensure the security of the Russian Federation”, from January 1, 2024 to December 31,” it says document.

It is noted that as part of the embargo, the import into the country of meat and dairy products, fish, vegetables, fruits and nuts from countries that have decided to impose economic sanctions will be prohibited. The embargo applies to the EU, USA, Australia, Canada, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Albania and Montenegro.
